About RGI

Reproductive Genetic Innovations (RGI) is an internationally recognized leader in assisted reproductive technologies, performing advanced Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT). PGT, in conjunction with an In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) cycle, is the only way to determine if an embryo contains abnormalities or the normal number of chromosomes, reducing the chance of failed implantation or an early miscarriage, and/or identifying whether an embryo is predicted to be affected with a specific genetic condition prior to achieving pregnancy.

RGI offers state-of-the-art technologies to test embryos for many different diseases, Aneuploidies and Single Gene Defects, Structural Rearrangements and HLA matching.

Indications for PGT

Advanced Maternal Age
Recurrent Pregnancy Loss
Repeated IVF Failures
History of a Genetic Condition
Maximizing a Transfer of Successful Donor Oocytes
Prior Pregnancy with a Chromosomal Abnormality
Desire to Determine Sex
Testing Previously Frozen Embryos
Child in Need of an HLA-matched Bone Marrow or Cord Blood Transplant

Leaders in Preimplantation Genetic Testing Since 1989

Reproductive Genetic Innovations is committed to continually evolving and improving our techniques for more comprehensive and accurate results.

Established in 1989, RGI is a pioneer in the field of preimplantation genetic testing (PGT), being the first U.S. lab to perform successful PGT for a single gene disorder and one of two worldwide. RGI remains the most experienced laboratory, world wide, with PGT-M.

Now, with over 30 years of experience, RGI has helped to facilitate the birth of more than 10,000 healthy babies. In addition to our in-house IVF lab, RGI has a state of the art testing laboratory where our expert team of scientists, doctors, and genetic counselors successfully apply the most contemporary techniques for families needing genetic testing on their embryos.

RGI has pioneered many discoveries and advances in PGT and we continue our tradition of innovation everyday by ensuring the latest technology, customized testing setup, and remaining dedicated to helping patients achieve healthy pregnancy and peace of mind.

Our promise to our patients is that we will constantly evolve, ensuring the latest technology, innovations across customized testing setup, and remaining dedicated to helping them achieve healthy pregnancy and peace of mind.

At Reproductive Genetic Innovations, it is our goal to provide families with the best chance at having a healthy baby, and to support you, your family and care team along the way.

Our Team

RGI was built by some of the leading experts in the industry, with over 100 years of combined experience in reproductive genetics on our executive board alone.

Under the leadership of Dr. Svetlana Rechitsky, PhD, RGI proudly continues the pioneering work that was started by the late Dr. Yury Verlinsky in 1989 and has facilitated the birth of tens of thousands of children across the world.

RGI’s clinical staff consists of experienced board-certified physicians and genetic counselors who provide exceptional care for each and every patient. Our staff is available for counseling in regards to PGT procedures and the interpretation of genetic results to guide patients and families throughout the IVF and PGT process.

We employ a growing staff of superb scientists and researchers. We continue to pride ourselves in providing a personal touch for every case.

Our Labs

We work with referring physicians to provide high-quality embryology and andrology services.

This, combined with our unparalleled experience in PGT, has helped to make RGI’s laboratories the primary choice for intended parents and their healthcare providers. RGI houses two independently run laboratories:
IVF Lab: Our IVF laboratory program includes services in all aspects of ART: oocyte/embryo culture, insemination (including ICSI), blastocyst culture, embryo transfer, embryo and oocyte vitrification, all types of embryo biopsies, semen analysis, semen and oocyte cryopreservation.
Molecular Genetics Lab: In addition to PGT for single gene disorders, our comprehensive test menu includes 24-chromosome PGT-A, PGT-SR for chromosomal rearrangements, PGT-HLA for Human Leukocyte Antigens, and POC testing. RGI’s expert researchers have also logged countless hours perfecting various groundbreaking PGT techniques. These proprietary techniques are what separates RGI from other testing providers, as our customized processes provide significantly more comprehensive results.
Our scientists have pioneered many of the techniques now wide-spread for embryo biopsy and preimplantation genetic analysis for single gene disorders and HLA matching.

Our Tests

Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) is the only way to determine if an embryo is predicted not to be affected with a genetic condition or chromosomal disorder prior to achieving pregnancy. PGT is performed in conjunction with an In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) cycle and can significantly reduce the chances of having a baby with a specific genetic condition or chromosomal abnormality. There are various types of PGT available, depending on the needs of individual patients.

PGT for Aneuploidy
PGT for Monogenic/Single Gene Defects
PGT for Structural Rearrangements
PGT for Human Leukocyte Antigens

As a result of our vast experience and highly trained staff, RGI has performed over 7,500 PGT-M procedures for patients around the world.

With over 500 single gene disorder cases every year, RGI boasts one of the largest catalogs of testable gene mutations and disorders in the world. Our proprietary techniques and customized testing processes are significantly more comprehensive with highest possible accuracy.
