Our Team
RGI was built by some of the leading experts in the industry, with over 100 years of combined experience in reproductive genetics on our executive board alone.
Under the leadership of Dr. Svetlana Rechitsky, PhD, RGI proudly continues the pioneering work that was started by the late Dr. Yury Verlinsky in 1989 and has facilitated the birth of thousands of children across the glob.
RGI’s clinical staff consists of experienced board-certified physicians and genetic counselors who provide exceptional care for each and every patient. Our staff is available for PGT counseling and the interpretation of genetic results to guide patients and families throughout the PGT process.
We employ a growing staff of superb scientists and researchers. We continue to pride ourselves in providing a personal touch for every case.
Meet the RGI teamOur Labs
We work with referring physicians to provide high-quality PGT, embryology and andrology services.
Our unparalleled experience in PGT, has helped to make RGI’s laboratories the primary choice for intended parents and their healthcare providers. RGI houses two independently run laboratories:
IVF Lab: Our IVF laboratory program includes services in all aspects of ART: oocyte/embryo culture, insemination (including ICSI), blastocyst culture, embryo transfer, embryo and oocyte vitrification, all types of embryo biopsies, semen analysis, semen and oocyte cryopreservation.
Molecular Genetics Lab: In addition to PGT for single gene disorders, our comprehensive test menu includes 24-chromosome PGT-A, PGT-SR for chromosomal rearrangements, PGT-HLA for Human Leukocyte Antigens, and POC testing. RGI’s expert researchers have also logged countless hours perfecting various groundbreaking PGT techniques. These proprietary techniques are what separates RGI from other testing providers, as our customized processes provide significantly more comprehensive results.
Our scientists have pioneered many of the techniques now wide-spread for embryo biopsy and preimplantation genetic analysis for single gene disorders and HLA matching.
Our Tests
Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) is the only way to determine if an embryo is predicted not to be affected with a genetic condition or chromosomal disorder prior to achieving pregnancy. PGT is performed in conjunction with an In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) cycle and can significantly reduce the chances of having a baby with a specific genetic condition or chromosomal abnormality. There are various types of PGT available, depending on the needs of individual patients.
PGT for Aneuploidy
PGT for Monogenic/Single Gene Defects
PGT for Structural Rearrangements
PGT for Human Leukocyte Antigens
As a result of our vast experience and highly trained staff, RGI has performed over 7,500 PGT-M procedures for patients around the world.
With over 500 single gene disorder cases every year, RGI boasts one of the largest catalogs of testable gene mutations and disorders in the world. Our proprietary techniques and customized testing processes are significantly more comprehensive with highest possible accuracy.
